AI maintenance in the wild

Short post just to say that coding agents are already autonomously maintaining software, and have boosted the rate of open source maintenance immensely. I don't think enough people realise just how much care and attention open source projects are getting now (except some maintainers push back a lot against big features written by AI for code quality reasons).

But when it comes to bugs, our Claude Code sessions are talking to each other to resolve them, via GitHub. E.g. I use go-librespot in Console to handle music, and a new release introduced a bug. My agent figured out what the bug is, pinned to an older version, then raised a really well-written issue.

Then the maintainer's Claude Code fixed it, crediting me for some reason (I didn't do anything!) and mine could use the latest version again. What a time to be alive!
